Our beautiful guest house is located in the heart of the historical center of Florence, in the Quartiere San Lorenzo, one of the most important historical sectors of the city. Locanda Gallo is situated in a traditional Florentine building, with a small entrance and charming little stairs. It is located on the 3rd floor of a historic palace from the 1400s that was once part of the "Spedale dei Cavalieri di Malta".In September 2007, we renovated our rooms and reception area. Currently, we offer a reception where guests can use our computer with free internet access. We have various room options, including four-bed private rooms with en suite bathrooms, triple private rooms with en suite bathrooms (one with a kitchen corner), and double private rooms with en suite bathrooms and kitchen corners. Our rooms are sunny, clean, and newly furnished. Each room is private and equipped with a bathroom, TV, free Wi-Fi internet access, and air conditioning. Guests are provided with their own set of keys and there is no curfew, allowing guests to come and go as they please. Some of our double rooms also have kitchen corners, making them ideal for longer stays.
At Locanda Gallo, we prioritize courtesy, cleanliness, good services, and a central location. We offer the best prices you can find in Florence. Our experienced and courteous staff will ensure that your stay in Florence is memorable. If you are looking for a standard, anonymous, and ordinary place, we are not the right choice for you.
Please note that our guest house is located on the 2nd and 3rd floors without an elevator. We offer amenities such as TV, digital TV, fax service, air conditioning, room service (upon request), linen hand towels, kitchen corners in the studios, hairdryers (upon request), availability of a private tour guide, laundry service (available in some rooms), booking of museum tickets, bicycle rental, city map, cell phone rental, free Wi-Fi internet connection in all rooms, cleaning service (from 10:00am to 12:00pm), personal safe, and garage parking for an additional fee of 15 euros per day. We also have a partnership with typical Florentine restaurants.

Our location is incredibly convenient, as the Central Railway Station is just a 15-minute walk away. From there, you can easily explore Florence and visit various nearby attractions:
- The Duomo is only a 15-minute walk.
- The David is just a 10-minute walk.
- Santa Maria Novella train station is a 20-minute walk.
- The Galleria dell Accademia, home to the original David by Michelangelo, is only 500 meters away.
- The Cathedral is just 400 meters away.
- The Uffizi Gallery is within an 800-meter distance.
Additionally, if you need any basic necessities, you'll find everything conveniently close by, including an internet cafe, numerous bars/pubs, a variety of restaurants (including one catering to vegetarians), a launderette, a supermarket, a bank, a police station, and the open-air market of San Lorenzo.

If you're arriving at Aeroporto Amerigo Vespucci of Florence, take the shuttle for Santa Maria Novella train station. From there, it's just a 10-15 minute walk. Walk along via Nazionale until you reach via XXV aprile, then turn right and continue until you reach Via S. Gallo.
By Train:
From Stazione Santa Maria Novella, it's a short 10-15 minute walk. Take the exit on the left for Piazza Adua. Walk along via Nazionale until you reach via XXV aprile, then turn right and continue until you reach Via S. Gallo. Once you're on Via San Gallo, turn left and continue until you reach number 73, where we are located. Look for the target sign "Locanda Gallo."
By Car:
If you're coming from the north, Pisa, or highways A1 Bologna-Milano and A11 Lucca-Genova, exit at Firenze Nord and follow the directions for the Center and then for Stazione - Fortezza da Basso. After passing under the underpass of Fortezza da Basso, take Viale Spartaco Lavagnini and turn right at the first traffic light onto Via Santa Caterina d'Alessandria. Then, turn left onto Via delle Ruote. At the end of Via delle Ruote, you'll find Via San Gallo. Turn left and look for number 73. Our establishment is identified by the target sign "Locanda Gallo."
If you're coming from the south, Siena (SS22), or highway A1 Roma-Napoli, exit at Firenze Sud and follow the directions for the Center and then for Stazione - Fortezza da Basso. When you reach Piazza della Libertà, turn left at the first light and continue circling the square. After the second light, take Viale Lorenzo il Magnifico, which is across from it and slightly to the right. At the first light, turn left onto Via Poliziano. At the next traffic light, cross the street and keep right onto Via Santa Caterina d'Alessandria. Then, turn left onto Via delle Ruote. At the end of Via delle Ruote, you'll find Via San Gallo. Turn left and look for number 73. Our establishment is identified by the target sign "Locanda Gallo."
