Description for B&B:

Les Bruyeres at Verteuil sur Charente offers an unbeatable location, excellent facilities, and high-quality accommodation for house hunters, holidaymakers, or those passing through. This business is currently for sale, so contact the owners for more information.

Driving through the picturesque Charente countryside, you may stumble upon the charming village of Verteuil, just 5 minutes south of the bustling market town of Ruffec. The village is surrounded by fields of sunflowers and sweetcorn, and the tranquil river Charente flows beneath the walls of the 15th century chateau. Verteuil offers a range of amenities, including cafes, restaurants, shops, and more.

Upon entering Les Bruyeres, you will be greeted by a private courtyard with balconies, adorned with beautiful hanging baskets and flower arrangements during the summer months. The courtyard also features an open barn, providing secure, covered parking for up to 6 cars.

The accommodation at Les Bruyeres consists of 3 spacious and en suite bedrooms, as well as a communal kitchen dining area. The converted barn retains its original features, such as exposed beams and dressed Charantaise stone. All rooms are equipped with central heating.

Each bedroom includes an en suite with a shower, hand washbasin, and toilet. Ample storage space, English to French electric adapters, a hairdryer, and a radio/CD alarm are also provided. Daily room service is available, including towel changes if required. Shampoo, shower gel, and soap are supplied. If needed, a baby cot or additional camp bed can be added to any of the rooms.

The ground floor family room offers a double bed, 2 wardrobes, and a sitting area with easy chairs, a coffee table, and a sofa that converts into a double bed for families. The two double rooms on the first floor feature a combination of double and single beds, dressing tables, easy chairs, and built-in wardrobes.

To address the lack of facilities often found in bed and breakfast accommodations, Les Bruyeres includes a fully fitted kitchen exclusively for guests. The kitchen is equipped with a four-ring electric hob and oven, microwave oven, fridge, kettle, coffee percolator, slow cooker, toaster, steamer, pots, pans, casseroles, utensils, crockery, glasses, cutlery, and a dining table that seats up to 8 people. Complimentary tea and coffee are available at all times. The kitchen area also offers English TV with FreeView channels, a selection of board games and videos, and information on local attractions and dining options. WiFi internet access is available in all rooms.

A separate laundry room is available for guests, complete with washing, drying, and ironing facilities.

If you are house hunting, the owners are happy to share their knowledge and answer any questions you may have about buying and renovating a property or integrating into French life. For those seeking a relaxing break, the owners are available to provide advice on local attractions and places to visit.

From the kitchen, French doors lead to the East-facing sun terrace with a covered gazebo, perfect for enjoying breakfast in the morning sun during the summer. The lawned garden features a pergola walkway and enjoys sunlight from early morning to late afternoon.

Appréciations pour Les Bruyeres, Verteuil sur Charente:

TR3 recalcitrante..!!!!

Excellente adresse
Lovely !

My husband and I stayed here for 3 days while looking for a house to buy Fabulous location overlooking the Charente. To have a full kitchen at ones disposal in a B&B is rare and very much appreciated. We were given lots of useful information regarding the area and before we left had bought a house in the village. Thank you Adam and Jan for such an enjoyable comfortable stay.

Unobtrusive hosts Jan and Adam were welcoming, friendly and informative. A relaxed and laid-back manner is the signature of their business. On-site parking was important to us as was the proximity of the property to the attractive centre of Verteuil. A three or four minute walk across two little bridges spanning the Charente river and you're there! Our accommodation was bright, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Many guests return to Les Bruyeres time and again and my wife and I will be following suit. Highly recommended.
parfait !
