Description for Gite

Originally designed in 1886 by the renowned architect Harald M. Hansen for his own family, The Mansion stands today as a historically significant building. Boasting its original Victorian features, including the remarkable Giannini and Hilgart stained glass windows, elegant pocket doors and shutters, exquisite parquet floors, ornamental fireplaces, intricately carved wood trim, and exquisite plaster ceiling medallions, this property is truly a sight to behold.

Preserving its authentic charm, the Mansion showcases 19th-century furnishings and artwork, immersing guests in a bygone era. However, modern-day comforts have not been forgotten. With central air conditioning, high-speed Internet, WiFi, and ethernet, as well as our strict non-smoking policy, we ensure our guests enjoy the utmost comfort during their stay. This remarkable residence offers an unparalleled experience, unlike anything else available in the vibrant city of Chicago.

The first level of the Mansion presents a spacious living room, a dining room that comfortably accommodates up to ten guests, a convenient butler's pantry, a half bathroom, and a recently renovated, fully-equipped eat-in kitchen.

As for the sleeping arrangements, we provide four bedrooms, three of which feature queen beds, while the fourth offers two single beds.
