Description for B&B:

Situated in the heart of the picturesque Loire Valley, we invite you to stay just steps away from the majestic Chaumont-sur Loire castle and its enchanting garden festival. Our guest room, located in the charming village of Onzain, offers easy access to popular attractions such as Blois, Amboise, Chenonceau, Chambord, and Tours. Whether you choose to travel by train or car, you can reach the capital city of Paris in under two hours.

The Old Castle guest room is actually a spacious suite comprising of four rooms, totaling 70 square meters, with a private terrace on the upper floor of the historic wing. Restored in 2010, this floor is perched on a 500-year-old, 1.20-meter-thick Talut wall. You will enjoy complete independence with your own private entrance.

Upon entering, you will find a room that showcases the history of the castle through various artifacts and remnants. This room serves as a cozy breakfast area during inclement weather. Ascending the stairs, you will be greeted by the main room, bathed in natural light from four windows on either side, spanning over 25 square meters. On the moat side, a time-honored stone staircase leads to this room, adjoined by a small covered terrace nestled against the remnants of a 14th-century tower. Weather permitting, breakfast can be served on this terrace, offering picturesque views.

The spacious master bedroom features a comfortable 180cm bed or two 90cm beds. An additional day bed (a real 90cm bed) can accommodate a child if needed.

On the courtyard side, an office with a fireplace and TV is equipped with a 90cm bed (an additional bed is possible).

On the moat side, a cozy sitting room leads to a dressing room with a 90cm bed. This area connects to the bathroom, which includes a toilet and bathtub. We are happy to provide a crib and baby equipment upon request.

Outside, our park, large terrace (220 square meters), and secure moat await your leisurely strolls. For a closer look at the swans and ducks that adorn the 5000 square meters of the moat, a boat is available for your use. Please note that our four-legged friends are not permitted, as the moat is populated by various animals and guarded by our two dogs, Willow and Weston.

As an approved "Gîtes de France" (3-ear) accommodation, our guest room at the Old Castle is open year-round, by reservation. During the season, you can enjoy concerts and shows organized by the Association for moats "The Arts of Helion". If you are our guest on a day of performance, you will be treated as our special guest. If any furniture in your room catches your eye, feel free to inquire about purchasing it from the Museum-Gallery of the Old Castle.

Appréciations pour Les Douves, Onzain:

Sejour très réussi!
Review by: Exbrayat, Juin 30 2012 12:22PM
