Only a 15-minute drive away from the enchanting Medieval City of Carcassonne, our house offers two beautifully decorated rooms that are bright and peaceful. You will also have access to a bathroom adorned with an antique bath, an Italian shower, and a WC. Additionally, we provide breakfasts featuring fresh and locally sourced products for your enjoyment.

Welcome to "Au fil de l'eau," our delightful 17th-century cottage that has been lovingly restored to provide a truly enchanting experience. Located just a short distance from the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Carcassonne and the Canal du Midi, our charming gite offers the perfect base for exploring this fascinating region.

Nestled on the banks of a picturesque river and at the entrance of Montolieu, a quaint village known for its love of books, our characterful cottage boasts a cozy living/dining room with a fireplace and a comfortable sofa bed. The fully equipped kitchen features a beautifully carved stone vault and a large bay window that opens onto a sunny terrace, offering breathtaking views of the river and garden.

With two double bedrooms, complete with a 1m60 and 1m40 bed respectively, as well as a bathroom featuring an antique bath and Italian shower, our gite is perfect for families or couples seeking a tranquil retreat. Guests can also enjoy free WIFI, a barbecue on the terrace, and access to our swimming pool and boules court. For those who enjoy fishing, the river offers the opportunity to catch trout right on our doorstep.

Should you wish to explore further afield, there is a municipal swimming pool and tennis court just 1km away, and a range of shops and restaurants can be found within 300m of the cottage. For a truly unique experience, we offer the chance to discover the area in one of our convertible 2CV cars, providing an authentic and memorable way to explore the region.

Je conseille vivement de passer des vacances chez Sabine et Bart. La maison est atypique. La terrasse est enivrante. La nature est exceptionnelle.
Sabine nous reçoit à merveille. Tout est prêt dès notre arrivée. Pour bien commencer les vacances, elle nous reçoit avec une petite attention. Sabine est toujours à l'écoute pour trouver une solution (location de voiture) et propose des activités intéressantes.
A ne pas manquer.

Directions

To travel from Carcassonne to Toulouse, take the RN113 road towards Pezens. Once in Pezens, make a right turn and head towards Moussoulens. At the roundabout in Moussoulens, continue in the direction of Montolieu. Once you reach Montolieu, follow the signs for Alzonne. The house you are looking for is located a short distance ahead, on the left-hand side, just before the bridge.
