Description:

Description for B&B:

The village of Morey is situated in the town of BELLEAU, perched at an elevation of 305 meters above sea level on the side of the Natagne valley, crossing from the east to the west side of the Moselle rating in the Massif of the great Romanesque couronné. The village is home to an impressive twelfth-century St. Peter's Church. The population, known as the villagers, consists of around a hundred individuals. Morey Castle, originally built in the twelfth century on the remains of a Templar monastery, passed through various owners over the centuries. The fortified house was included in the possessions of JEHAN TOULON Nomeny, the lord of Morey, until the seventeenth century. The property then changed hands to Brassel JOLY MOREY, and later to George DUCROCQ, a notable writer. Unfortunately, in 1985, the castle was destroyed by fire and subsequently abandoned. When we discovered the site, there were only four walls remaining. However, with courage and determination, we have transformed the ruins into a beautiful setting with five guest rooms, surrounded by nature. The property boasts a large garden, protected by a wall standing over 5 meters tall. The garden is adorned with various trees, including chestnut, cedar of Lebanon, lime, copper beeches, oaks, and maple. Additionally, there is a charming duck pond on the premises.
