Description for B&B:

Welcome to Ygeia, our beloved house named after the Greek Goddess of Health, Hygieia. It's no wonder that we always feel so good here!

Since falling in love with this house in 2009, we have put in countless hours of work to make it our own. While we've handled most of the renovations ourselves, we did bring in professionals for major projects like the pool (which is why it's taking a bit longer!).

We made the decision to rent out the house as a gite to help cover costs and also to share this incredible place with others. We genuinely hope that you have a fantastic time and enjoy the property just as much as we do!

When you step foot in our home, you'll be greeted by a charming traditional French country house. We've managed to preserve its old-fashioned charm while adding modern fixtures for your comfort. Whether you're relaxing on the exceptional river terrace, exploring the lush green garden, or unwinding in the cozy and comfortable rooms, we're certain that you'll fall in love with the house just like we did.

Flaujagues, where our house is located, is only 15 kilometers away from the famous medieval village and vineyards of St Emilion, designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site. If you're craving a city experience, Bordeaux is just 50 kilometers away, and within an hour and a half, you can reach the beautiful Atlantic coast and the Bassin d’Arcachon, known for its beaches and oysters, as well as the renowned Medoc region famous for its excellent wines. Flaujagues itself is situated in the Entre-deux-Mers, a region renowned for its wines, fabulous medieval villages, and numerous hiking trails. Additionally, there are four golf courses nearby for those who enjoy the sport.

The southwest of France is a haven for food lovers, offering a wide range of gourmet experiences. From Michelin-starred restaurants like Hostellerie de Plaisance in St Emilion to local gems like La Puce, a favorite among vineyard workers, you'll find an amazing diversity of tastes to explore. Whether you're in the mood for a succulent side of beef or want to try the local delicacy, la Lamproie (a type of fish), or perhaps you're craving pigeon or oysters from Arguin, the choice is yours. We'll be more than happy to guide you in the right direction.

If you enjoy cooking, we can provide you with information on the best places to shop for high-quality products and wines.

Conveniently, our house is situated between two international airports. Bergerac, which is 40 kilometers away, offers connections to England through Ryanair. Bordeaux Merignac, just 50 kilometers away, is another option for your travel needs.

We sincerely look forward to welcoming you to our home and sharing this wonderful experience with you.

Description for Gite

The "Red" room, facing east, is the most spacious. Its three windows open directly onto the Dordogne River. The comfortable queen-size bed and en suite bathroom make it an ideal choice.

The "Blue" room, facing east and south, is the smallest, approximately 25 square meters. Its two windows offer stunning views of the Dordogne River and the park of the Château de Flaujagues. The comfortable double bed and en suite bathroom make it a cozy retreat.

The "Yellow" room, facing south, is also very spacious. Its window overlooks the park and the curve of the Dordogne River. The adaptable king-size bed can be set up as a twin or double, and the en suite bathroom adds to the convenience.

In front of you, the Dordogne River presents an ever-changing landscape and a wooded bank, free from any construction, road, or house. Only swans, herons, egrets, kingfishers, and swallows may disturb your tranquility.
