Description for Gite

Welcome to our 3-star gite, located in the beautiful Ardèche region of France. With a detailed description and plenty of useful information available on our website, you can easily find everything you need to know about the gite. This includes our terms and conditions, booking availability, tariffs, as well as practical and general tourist information about the area. Additionally, you can take a virtual tour of the gite and the charming hamlet it is situated in.

Perched 550 meters up on a lush mountainside overlooking the Beaume valley, at the foot of the Tanargue massif, the hamlet of Le Monteil is a picturesque setting perfect for relaxation and rejuvenation. You'll be captivated by the traditional charm of the surroundings, the breathtaking landscapes, and the warm smiles of the villagers. Our historic house, dating back to 1490, has been meticulously renovated over the years to create a comfortable and inviting home where we love to spend time.

Originally consisting of two "wings," we have transformed the main part of the house into a family holiday home, while the remaining section, once a silkworm rearing-house, has been converted into an independent holiday rental accommodation - our delightful and welcoming gite. Sleeping up to 4 people (plus a baby or toddler), the gite offers modern comfort alongside original stone walls. Spanning two levels and covering 85 m², the ground floor features a spacious living area with an open-plan kitchen that opens onto a patio, a functional bathroom with a bath, shower attachment, and wash-basin, as well as a separate toilet. Upstairs, you'll find two double bedrooms separated by a landing, each with a wash-basin.

The gite has its own entrance through large French doors that lead to a terrace and alley. Throughout both floors, you'll find practical and easy-to-maintain pink sandstone tiles. Electric underground heating with thermostats and timers ensures warmth in the kitchen and lounge, while each bedroom has an electric convector and the bathroom has a fan heater. Double-glazed doors and windows with aluminum frames provide excellent insulation in winter and a cool retreat in summer. To ensure proper ventilation, air vents are located in the toilet, bathroom, kitchen, and above each bedroom wash-basin.

Please note that pets are not allowed.

Pricing for the gite is as follows:
- High season (July and August): 700 EUR per week
- Mid season (June and September): 470 EUR per week
- Low season (October to May): 350 EUR per week

To secure a booking, we require a 25% deposit at the time of reservation. Upon arrival, a deposit of 300 EUR is requested to cover any potential damages.

Included in the rental price are electricity and water bills, as well as bed linen, dishcloths, and towels for 4 people. We also provide basic equipment for babies or toddlers free of charge, including a cot, high chair, pram, and bath. Other amenities at the property include a color satellite TV, DVD player, barbecue, and garden furniture.

Additional services available for an extra charge include a cleaning service for 50 EUR at the end of your stay and a 25 EUR per week fee for electric heating during the winter months.

Parking facilities are available about 150 meters from the gite, but you can park closer, about 25 meters away, for short periods to unload your car, for example.
