Description for Gite

Welcome to LA ROSERAIE! Our beautiful gite is located in the DER Lake region, which is renowned for its significant ornithological importance. This area serves as a breeding ground, wintering spot, and migration stopover for over 200 species of birds, including some protected ones.

Situated near three marinas - the port of Nemours, the port of Nuisement, and the nautical station of Giffaumont - LA ROSERAIE provides easy access to the stunning blue-flag labeled ports.

At DER Lake, guests can enjoy a variety of activities such as swimming at one of the six beaches, fishing, and engaging in various water sports including windsurfing, power boating, and water skiing. For nature enthusiasts, there are approximately 250 km of signposted paths and cycle paths that encircle the lake for refreshing hikes or bike rides. Additionally, these paths connect to the nearby town of Saint-Dizier along the picturesque Canal de la Marne.

In addition to the natural wonders, the country of Der is famous for its charming half-timbered religious buildings. Don't miss the opportunity to explore the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin in Châtillon-sur-Broué, which is part of a tourist route showcasing churches dating back to the 15th, 16th, and 17th centuries.

LA ROSERAIE is conveniently located near several attractions. Discover the renowned national stud farm of Montier-en-Der, the fascinating Protestant Museum, and the Romanesque church of Wassy. If you wish to explore further, the towns of Vitry-le-François, Saint-Dizier, and Bar-le-Duc are also nearby. For a unique experience, venture to the Orient Forest Regional Natural Park, which features a series of artificial lakes designed to regulate the flooding of the Seine.
