Experience the ultimate luxury getaway at our stunning 3-bedroom lodge, perfect for up to 5 guests. Nestled within a private estate, The Borders Lodge offers a romantic escape with a beautifully landscaped garden, providing a haven of tranquility.

The lodge boasts a spacious 200 m2 ground floor, featuring an elegant entrance hall and a luxurious master bedroom named "De Voorkamer," complete with a dressing area and a comfortable double bed measuring 1.60m in width and 2.00m in length.

Additionally, there is a charming one-person bedroom called "De koeienkamer," equipped with a single bed measuring 0.90m by 2.00m. The bathroom, complete with a large walk-in shower and towel rail, also includes a sink. Guests will have access to a washing machine and dryer for their convenience.

A separate, wheelchair-accessible toilet with a washbasin is also available. The lodge features a fully equipped kitchen, perfect for preparing delicious meals.

Relax in the spacious lounge, adorned with a Chesterfield sofa in English style, a HD flat screen TV, and a DVD player with an extensive collection of movies. An audio system with radio and CD capabilities is also provided. From the sitting room, guests can enjoy a breathtaking view of the large terrace and garden, furnished with comfortable outdoor furniture.

On the first floor, guests will find a second master bedroom styled in an industrial design, complete with a large double bed and a cozy sitting area with a HD flat screen TV and DVD player. This room also includes a washbasin.

The estate offers additional amenities, including an indoor heated swimming pool and a sauna. Guests can reserve the private wellness center for their use, with advanced booking required.

Located in the charming village of Koewacht, situated on the Dutch/Belgian border, The Borders Lodge is surrounded by picturesque flax fields. This rural village seamlessly blends the Belgian and Dutch cultures, creating a unique and vibrant atmosphere. The area is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, offering fantastic opportunities for cycling, hiking, fishing, and exploring the historic cities of Ghent, Dendermonde, Antwerp, Holly, Middelburg, and Veere. The stunning North Sea coast is only a 40-minute drive away, where guests can enjoy untouched nature, serene creeks and polders, historic dikes, and enchanting forests.

Koewacht is renowned for its flax culture, with a dedicated museum showcasing the processing of flax. The village's location on the border adds to its charm, with the surrounding flax fields painting a beautiful palette of blue and green during blooming season. The name "Koewacht" translates to "cows waiting," reflecting the village's historical significance.

During the Eighty Years War, Koewacht emerged as a result of its strategic position on the border. The village was part of the Catholic Spaniards' territory, and to protect the border, a series of forts were built, known as the Line of Communication between Holly and Sas van Gent. Over time, the forts disappeared, but Fort Masereel transformed into a residential area, now known as Koewacht. The fort was predominantly inhabited by French mercenaries, explaining the French influence in the local dialect. The former fort site is now occupied by the Church of St. James and Philipus, with its oldest part, the tower, dating back to the 18th century.

Due to Belgium's secession from the Netherlands in 1830, the village was divided into Belgian and Dutch sections.
