Situated near the charming medieval city of Mirepoix, Montségur, and the Pyrenees, lOUSTAL AUX HIRONDELLES serves as a central base for exploring the Cathar Pyrenees. This simple yet cozy cottage is located in a tranquil Ariège hamlet, offering a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. With approximately 140m² of space, it features a spacious living room-kitchen of around 30m², four bedrooms (accommodating up to 140 guests), a bathroom, an outdoor courtyard, and covered parking for vehicles. Just a five-minute walk from the village, you will find an artisanal bakery with a grocery store and newspapers. Additionally, a river is located just 100m away.

We warmly welcome guests from April to the end of October, and our rates vary depending on the number of rooms occupied. For up to two bedrooms, the weekly rate is 300€, for three bedrooms it is 400€, and for all four bedrooms, it is 500€ (excluding tourist tax). Our cottage combines a functional layout with modern comforts, including amenities such as a TV, dishwasher, washing machine, conventional and microwave ovens, and more. The property also features a large fenced outdoor space, perfect for outdoor dining and storing vehicles under cover.

As a comfortable farmhouse near the Ariège Cathar Pyrenees, our location offers a calm and peaceful environment surrounded by forests, mountains, history, and prehistory. Only 10 km away from Mirepoix, a town with a population of 3100, you will find all the necessary amenities for your daily needs. Within a 50 km radius, you will discover a wealth of activities to enjoy, whether rain or shine, including cultural and sports activities, natural wonders, medieval sites, and prehistoric attractions.

In terms of nearby towns, we are just a 10-minute drive from downtown Mirepoix and various supermarkets. Other towns within a few kilometers include Lavelanet, Pamiers, Foix, Tarascon, Carcassonne, St Girons, St Lizier, and Toulouse. Andorra is only 1 hour and 30 minutes away, while the sea and Spain are just 2 hours away.

Ariège offers a wide range of activities and leisure opportunities, catering to diverse interests and preferences. From natural sites and museums to local gastronomy and various other activities, there is something to satisfy both young and old alike. Notable attractions in close proximity include the medieval city of Mirepoix with its cathedral, the Rock Church of Vals, the Merovingian archaeological site of Tabariane, Pamiers, and the city of Gabriel Fauré.
