Description for B&B:

The two rooms are separate from our main house and have their own entrance. Each room has its own toilet and shower. The beds are 160x200 cm in size. Breakfast can be enjoyed on the terrace overlooking the swimming pool or in the shared conservatory. The rooms are equipped with cable TV and flat-screen TVs, and WiFi access is also available. Private parking is provided.

Located in the charming village of Esnandes in the Charente-Maritime region, our house is just a ten-minute drive from La Rochelle and the Ile de Ré. Esnandes is situated on the edge of the Marais Poitevin, also known as the Green Venice. Our house is in the heart of the village, only two kilometers from the sea. You will love the peaceful and tranquil environment. The village is full of charm with its narrow streets lined with holyhocks and adorable cream-colored houses. The fortified church, dating back to the 12th century, is a notable architectural gem. Next to the church is the Mytiliculture Museum, which tells the story of mussel farming, as Esnandes used to be a major center for cultivating Moules de Bouchot.

Esnandes is also located on the Bay of Aiguillon, with La Rochelle to the south and the beaches of the Vendée to the north. The bay is a natural reserve for migratory birds, making it a paradise for birdwatching enthusiasts. The L.P.O (ornithological society) organizes guided walks to explore the rich bird life and natural beauty of the area.

Despite its proximity to popular tourist destinations like La Rochelle and the Ile de Ré, Esnandes has managed to retain its authentic seaside village charm. Even during the tourist season, the village remains calm and tranquil, making it an ideal place to relax and unwind. It's the perfect location to recharge your batteries while still being close to La Rochelle, the Ile de Ré, and the Marais Poitevin.

If you're a cycling enthusiast, you'll enjoy riding along the coastal pathway that surrounds the Bay of Aiguillon. The impressive Ile de Ré bridge is just a short drive away. For a scenic walk, you can stroll from our house to Pointe Saint-Clément, where you can enjoy panoramic views of the bay and breathtaking sunsets. Don't miss the opportunity to see the colorful carrelets, traditional fishing cabins that are characteristic of this part of the Atlantic coast.

If you're longing for golden beaches, the Vendée coast with its towns like Les Sables-d'Olonne and La Tranche sur Mer is less than forty-five minutes away.

Séjour du 19 au 22 aout 2013
Review by: NOVAR, Sep 2 2013 4:09PM
