Description:

Description for B&B:

This charming village is situated on the side of a hill, offering breathtaking views of the OGNON valley. It is a paradise for fishermen and has managed to preserve its old-world charm with its historic landmarks.

The village is divided into two parts. "Bourg en haut," formerly known as bourg castral, is home to the castle, the church with its distinctive "clocher comtois," and the Grammont Hospital. These structures represent the village's rich history. In "Bourg en bas," the lower part of the village, you can find the mill, weaving mill, and the old railway station, which serve as reminders of a prosperous era, along with the remnants of the old forges and their locks.

The house itself dates back to the late 15th century and is centrally located near the city's shops, only 50 meters away from the castle. However, it is nestled in a tranquil upper terrace garden-park, offering guests a splendid view of the lower part of the village and the surrounding countryside.

Pascal and Philippe have invested their energy into restoring this house, creating a welcoming space for guests to enjoy pleasant moments in their company.

The thick lime-seamed stone walls keep the house naturally cool, while the oak ceilings and carefully selected furniture create a warm and peaceful atmosphere inside.

The house features a spacious drawing-room and music-room, separated from the dining room by a traditional fireplace. Guests can relax amidst two grand pianos and a Flemish harpsichord.

On the second floor, there are two double bedrooms and one single bedroom, all beautifully furnished with a touch of old-world charm.

The large red room is a double room with a 140 cm wide antique bed. It also includes a private lavatory with a washbasin and WC.

Next to the red room is the blue room, another double room with an old 130 cm wide bed. If needed, it can be connected to the red room through access to the red room's lavatory.

The yellow room is a cozy single room with a 110 cm wide "boat-bed."

The first floor offers a bathroom with a bath shower, washbasin, and WC, which is available for the use of all three rooms.

Guests have access to various amenities including the drawing-room, music-room, TV lounge, fully equipped kitchen, terrace balcony, and the garden and park area with a swimming pool in the summer.

In the surrounding area, there are several attractions to explore, including the church, parsonage, town-hall from the 18th century, Renaissance Castle, and the Grammont Hospital with its 18th-century pharmacy. Guided tours of the city and the pharmacy are also available.

For outdoor enthusiasts, there are plenty of activities to enjoy such as canoeing, kayaking, golfing, hiking, horse-riding, mountain biking, castle visits, fishing, and swimming.
