Description:

Description for B&B:

The Castle of Ferns, built in 1860 by a Parisian industrialist, is perched on the heights of Trouville and offers a breathtaking view of the entire Côte Fleurie and Deauville. Originally an elegant seaside villa adorned with an exotic winter garden, the castle underwent significant expansions and renovations in the 1920s, transforming it into the majestic structure it is today.

Over the years, the castle's land was divided, its farm and a large portion of its farmland were lost. However, the property still stands as a remarkable ensemble, consisting of the castle building and its various annexes, situated within a picturesque 5-hectare park.

During World War II, the castle was occupied by the German army, serving as a religious annex, a summer camp, and later a convalescent home, providing aid to the heavily damaged city of Caen. Unfortunately, following the economic crisis of the 1990s, the castle was abandoned and left boarded up until it was purchased by an individual in 1997.

Since then, an extensive restoration campaign has been carried out to erase the remnants of its troubled past and revive the castle's former glory. Today, the property has been saved and is now open to guests and friends who seek to experience the enchanting allure of this sleeping beauty. The passionate owners take great pleasure in sharing the castle's captivating history and charm with all who visit.
