Description for Gite

Welcome to Les Caselles, a charming farmhouse located on the Causse, offering a unique and sustainable tourism experience.

Dating back to the 17th century, our authentic Aveyron building is nestled in the heart of the Grands Causses Natural Park. It benefits from the rich history of the nearby village of Saint-Beauzely, known for its skilled builders and sandstone quarries.

Situated near Millau, the Gorges du Tarn, and the Larzac plateau, Saint-Beauzely holds a significant place in history as the birthplace of the builders responsible for the fortifications of the Templar and Hospital cities.

Once a thriving Causses farm in the picturesque hamlet of Azinières, Les Caselles played a vital role in the production of the renowned Roquefort cheese. Covering over 400 hectares, the farm provided a home for ewes on the nutrient-poor land of the Causse Rouge, boasting exceptional flora.

However, as time passed, the farm faced challenges and neglect, putting the proud Caussenarde building at risk. Fortunately, in the year 2000, a buyer embarked on an extraordinary renovation project, envisioning a farm inn to bring the site to life. And thus, "Les Caselles" was discovered by its first travelers.

Today, Mikaël and Alizée Pélégry, the current owners, have taken on the mission of transforming Les Caselles into an eco-friendly, low-energy home, driven by their commitment to quality and ecological transition for sustainable and responsible tourism.

With the expertise of local companies, Les Caselles now offers five top-of-the-range guest rooms, a charming gite, and various communal and private areas, all with energy consumption comparable to that of a single-family home.

Mikaël and Alizée take pride in providing their guests with high-performance, eco-responsible equipment, ensuring a guilt-free and responsible stay. From simple gestures to major renovations, they continuously reinvent themselves, whether it be through changing the heating system, using LED lights, utilizing rainwater, installing solar panels, or offering a charging point for electric vehicles. Every action counts in their sustainable and responsible approach to tourism.

When it comes to dining, Les Caselles upholds the same principles. They prioritize short circuits, sourcing fresh, local, and quality products to showcase the richness of the Aveyron region and introduce guests to their passionate producers.

Above all, Mikaël and Alizée aim to provide a warm and authentic Aveyron experience, striving to become one of the best guest houses in the region. Their commitment to friendliness and quality ensures that every visitor enjoys a remarkable and memorable stay.

Join us at Les Caselles for a "slow tourism" experience, where picturesque landscapes, outdoor activities, and sustainable practices combine to create unforgettable holidays in Aveyron.
