Description for B&B:

Mas St Joseph, built in 1790 as the living quarters for the nearby monastery, is rich in history and charm. The property incorporates parts of the original monastery, now transformed into a peach farm with additional farmhouse and barns. The beautiful chapel is located on the opposite side, adding to the tranquil atmosphere of the mas.

The spacious rooms of the mas offer breathtaking views of the peach orchards, hills, and mountains beyond. The rooms are adorned with traditional Catalan brocante items, which are also available for purchase.

On the ground floor, guests are welcomed by an entrance hallway featuring exposed stonework and beams. A large refectory table is available for meals when outdoor dining is not possible. There are two guest sitting rooms, one equipped with satellite TV and a granule burner for comfort. The second, larger sitting room also offers satellite TV and a DVD player. French doors lead to a Moroccan-style patio/courtyard with a barbecue, seating area, swimming pool, and additional seating area. Guests are free to choose their preferred spot for breakfast.

Accommodations at Mas St Joseph include three bedrooms and a self-contained studio, each with a newly renovated en-suite shower and toilet. All rooms are equipped with Wi-Fi and satellite television. Room rates include a generous continental breakfast, and guests can also request picnic lunches and evening meals.

Chambre de l'Abbé, a room that once housed the abbot during the mas's monastic days, boasts a sunny ambiance and stunning views of the peach orchards and Les Aspres hills. It features a comfortable antique double bed and a standard TV with satellite channels. Please note that the en-suite shower/WC room is compact and may not be suitable for larger guests.

Chambre du Canigou showcases exposed stone work and offers views of Mount Canigou. It features a Queen size double bed, big screen TV with satellite channels, DVD player, wardrobe, and chest of drawers. The spacious en-suite shower room with WC makes it an ideal choice for couples seeking a romantic holiday.

Chambre du Soleil faces south, allowing for abundant natural light and the same picturesque views as Chambre de l'Abbé. It offers a super King size bed, writing desk, big screen TV with satellite channels, DVD player, and a spacious en-suite shower room and WC. This room can also be configured with twin single beds upon request.

The Studio Catalan, located on the top floor of the mas, provides views of both Mount Canigou and Les Aspres. It features a mezzanine level with two single beds (or one super king size double) and a futon bed, accommodating up to three people. Additionally, a couple can sleep on a sofa bed in the main room, allowing for a maximum capacity of five persons. The studio includes a compact shower room/WC, dining table, and kitchenette equipped with a fridge, microwave, and electric kettle (no stove or oven). Entertainment options include a wide screen TV with satellite channels, DVD player, pull-down cinema screen, and ceiling-mounted digital projector. The room also offers a small library and two comfortable sofas. Please note that due to the stairs to the mezzanine and low sloping roof in that area, the studio is not suitable for the elderly, disabled individuals, or children.

Room rates for the Mas St Joseph accommodations vary based on the season and number of guests.

Mas chaleureux
Review by: Sylviane Serra, Juin 14 2019 3:27PM
Hôtes très accueillants, ils font tout pour que l'on se sente bien. L'endroit est magnifique, les petits petits-déjeuners au top, la literie de qualité. On peut s'installer confortablement autour de la piscine. Il y a tout pour passer un séjour magique.

Directions

Finding us is simple, especially if you are coming from Perpignan. When in Perpignan, follow the signs for Andorra La Veille or Prades and take the N116 heading west for approximately 24 km. Then, take the Ille-sur-Tet exit. If you are in the city center, look for signs directing you to Thuir, and continue onto Route de Corbere. After traveling about 1 km out of town, you will notice a blue sign indicating St. Joseph. Make a right turn at that point, and our Mas is just a short distance up the driveway.
