Description for B&B:

"Takeyama" guest house, also known as "The Bamboo Mountain", was created out of my deep admiration for the stunning mountain landscapes and rich Japanese culture. My hope is that your stay at Takeyama will be a remarkable experience where you can immerse yourself in these passions. Whether you seek a relaxing getaway or an adventurous sports-filled vacation, we offer a wide range of activities to cater to your preferences. From shopping in the exquisite ski stations of Chamonix or Megève, to exploring enchanting forests and lakes, and even indulging in climbing or skiing, tailored to your skill level, there is something for everyone.

Nestled in the quaint village of Domancy, surrounded by the majestic Mont-Blanc, the Aravis massif, and the peak of Warens, our guest house draws inspiration from traditional Japanese Ryokans. We have carefully decorated our home to effortlessly blend with modern life while still maintaining the subtle allure of these Japanese establishments. Using natural materials such as tatami mats, sliding doors made of wood, antique Japanese furniture, and delicate rice paper, our aim is to provide a comfortable and tranquil atmosphere after a day filled with activities in our breathtaking mountains.

Appréciations pour Takeyama Ryokan, Domancy:

Une halte japonaise bien agréable
Review by: Olivier, Aou 22 2012 6:19PM

Directions

Our guest house is situated in the charming village of Domancy, directly facing the majestic Mont-Blanc. It offers breathtaking views of the valley and surrounding plains. From our home, you can also enjoy panoramic views of three mountains: the Aravis massif to the west, the peak of Warens to the north, and of course, the iconic Mont-Blanc to the east. We are conveniently located approximately 6 km from Combloux, 24 km from Chamonix, and 10 km from Megève.

If you are arriving by train, there are a few options. If you are coming from Paris on the TGV high-speed train, you will need to make a transfer at either Lyon Part Dieu or Lyon Perrache railway station. It is important to note that during the winter holidays, some TGV trains arrive at Saint Gervais les Bains railway station, which is only 7 km away from our guest house. From there, you can easily rent a car, take a taxi, or hop on a bus to reach us. The closest railway station to our guest house is Sallanches, which is just 3 km away. You can plan your own itinerary using the helpful link provided by SNCF: "http://www.sncf.com". Simply enter "Sallanches" or "Domancy" as your destination.

Please keep in mind that our guest house is located 637 km from Paris (627 km by motorway), which takes approximately 6 hours to drive. From Lyon, we are 208 km away (198 km by motorway), which takes about 2 hours. If you are coming from Geneva, Switzerland, we are 66 km away (57 km by motorway), which can be reached in approximately 45 minutes.

If you are traveling by car on motorway A40/E25 towards Chamonix, take exit number 21 labeled "Le Fayet - St Gervais-Les-Bains". At the first roundabout, continue straight ahead. At the next roundabout, turn right towards Sallanches. You will pass by several supermarkets on your right, continue straight ahead on the road called "Route du Fayet" or A road (state highway) N205 for about 300 meters. At the crossroad with a high cross, turn left. Then, take the first road on your right, a small road called "route de la Viaz". Follow this road until you reach a turning, where you will turn left onto "Chemin du Cart". Our guest house, Takeyama, is located a short distance ahead on your left.
