Great four day break
Review by: Paul Foster, Avr 8 2019 5:25AM
Stayed at Le Campagnard while visiting the area. Teresa & Alan Bretman made us very welcome and helped with our sightseeing issues. All four of us (two rooms) slept very well, the rooms have all you need. We enjoyed the breakfast and we also ate in on two occasions and Teresa is a great chef.
Overall very good and great value.

Great place to stay!

I've stayed with Alan & Teresa twice now. The first time I was on my own and the second time I came with my family. The two hosts were just brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble. They provided advice on many, many things French, whilst I was there and were really flexible with the lovely meals as I am a fussy eater. My room was fresh, clean and very comfortable with all the amenities provided. On my visit with the family we had a family room which again was excellent with everything we needed. Alan and Teresa treated us if they had known us for years and we all appreciated that. We are planning another trip to that part of France and will try and spend at least one night with Alan and Teresa.
Beautiful House & Wonderful Hosts.

I stayed with Alan & Terry at their lovely house in idyllic Babaudus.
The breakfast and evening meal were sumptuous, my room very comfortable and nothing was too much trouble for the kind hosts.
This is the place to stay for a long or short break, give it a try!

Directions

1. Start from Rochechouart and head towards La Rochefoucauld.
2. When you reach the bottom of the hill, turn right towards Babaudus. Be cautious as this road is narrow and has many sharp bends.
3. Keep an eye out for the Castle on your right.
4. After driving for 500 meters, you will pass an old Gallo-Roman Arch on your right.
5. Another 400 meters down the road, you will come across an old Gothic bridge that you need to cross.
6. Continue on this road as it takes you uphill, with several tight turns. Once you reach the top of the hill, the road will level out for about 300 meters until you reach an intersection with another road that runs from left to right.
7. Take the right turn at the intersection and drive for approximately 100 meters. You will see a sign indicating that you are entering Babaudus. After that, take the second left turn, which is marked by a sign saying "Grand Rue de Babaudus".
8. The road will curve right and then left. Look out for Le Campagnard, which is the first building on the left. You will also see signs pointing to our Reception and Car Park, which you can access by taking the next left turn.
