Description for Gite

During your walks and hikes, you will have the opportunity to explore the picturesque village of Talmont-sur-Gironde, renowned as one of the most beautiful villages in France. Nestled in the heart of the Bordeaux vineyard, you can indulge in the exquisite flavors of the region by sampling the renowned Bordeaux wines and visiting exquisite chateaus that produce fine wines. Furthermore, you will have easy access to the stunning beaches in the area, including Royan, La Palmyre (home to a delightful zoo), and La Tremblade. As you venture towards Marennes and the Ile d'Oléron, prepare yourself for an unparalleled gastronomic experience, delighting in the freshest oysters, mussels, and seafood sourced from the bountiful Atlantic coast.

Our passion for French history led us to pay homage to the remarkable figure of Aliénor d'Aquitaine, who once resided in this region during the 12th century. As you step into La Demeure d'Aliénor, you will immerse yourself in an atmosphere dedicated to this extraordinary woman, as evidenced by the interior decoration influenced by her captivating universe.

Please note that La Demeure d'Aliénor does not provide breakfast or meals. However, we have thoughtfully equipped the kitchen to enable you to prepare your own meals. If you would like, we can assist you by purchasing groceries before your arrival at the Gite, simply send us a shopping list. You can reimburse us upon your arrival.
