Cantarana is the name of the country we reside in. It spans across vast stretches of forests and meadows, adorned with quaint villages of houses and farms scattered on the surrounding hills. These villages are connected by paths that may only be accessible on foot. The word "Cantarana" derives its meaning from "place with water," and rightfully so, as the area harbors the Bonoma source, which supplies water to the city of Asti. It lies in close proximity to our Bed & Breakfast. In 1995, four of us (accompanied by seven cats and a dog) chose to make this early 20th-century farm our home. We have meticulously restored it, as it originally belonged to the barber of Cantarana. The surrounding hills offer breathtaking views, and guests of the B&B can indulge in delightful walks, bike rides, and even horseback riding. We have established special agreements with two nearby riding establishments for the convenience of our guests. Reaching the B&B is convenient, whether by car (the Torino-Piacenza motorway exit is a mere 8 km away) or by train (the Villafranca-Cantarana station is approximately 4 km from the farm). Cantarana is a haven for wine enthusiasts, as it borders the most significant wine-producing areas in Piedmont: the Monferrato, Asti, Langhe, and Roero. Guido, our knowledgeable host, will happily recommend the finest wine producers in the region. During the summer months, our guests can savor homemade bread, garden produce (when in season), and other delectable offerings from nearby farms on the terrace adjacent to the B&B rooms. In winter, breakfast is served in our cozy breakfast room, where guests can also access the internet using the computer provided.
